Pentecost Season, Week 6
Independence Day Celebration
Welcome friends!
It's no surprise to many Christians that the United States shares an attitude issue like other nations around the world. Negative thinking pervades the citizenry because economic uncertainty, political mistrust, religious dilution, and other major league social disappointments erode public confidence in the future. So, negativism reigns.
Negative thinking is unbiblical, diabolical, unhealthy, and counter-productive. It must disappoint God that even dedicated Christians fall prey to this outlook on life.
The situation of today's United States challenges each believer to adopt positive thinking as their modus operandi everyday. It must become our sacred habit. In short, we are being called to serve as beacons of Christ's Light to resurrect positive thinking and positive living in our nation.
Today's Wednesday Church on the Internet thanks God for the privilege of using July 4th, Independence Day, as the starting point of this positive faith reformation.
Thank you for being a part of the faith family!

OPENING THOUGHT ...
Our thoughts turned into words have power to influence lives.
Responsible Christians think positively and live likewise.
Only positive thinking, speaking, and living glorifies God.

WORSHIP SERVICE ...
THE GATHERING
Praise the Lord all you nations:
extol him, all you peoples.
For great is his love toward us,
and the faithfulness of the Lord endures forever.
Praise the Lord.
(Psalm 117)
WE CONFESS OUR SINS AND RECEIVE NEW LIFE
God of all Nations,
We come to You thankful for your influence in our lives.
We come to You thankful for our desire for liberty.
We come to You thankful for citizens who fight for liberty.
We come to You thankful that we can ask for forgiveness when
we take liberty for granted.
We come to You thankful for divine love that forgives our sins.
We come to You thankful that our desires for liberty never
wane.
We come to You for your influence in our lives.
Amen

Today's Independence Day Scripture ...
John 8:31-32 (NIV)
"To the Jews who had believed him, Jesus said, "If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free."
MESSAGE
I believe that the United States suffers from general negative attitudes. This shows up in our distrust of economy, Washington government, inability to provide a better future for our children/grandchildren, and even in the way a secular minority forces society away from traditional religious values. If the nation continues with this attitude, USA will fall further behind in national development. Being negative takes valuable energy from national improvement.
Thankfully, God cares about the USA. Christian hold the antidote for this national disease. We know the Godly truth. It demands positive thinking and living. Practicing this truth sets us free to positively improve our nation. We must encourage others to choose and practice Christian truth in their lives. Imagine what would happen to the nation if 100 million people lived by positive, wholesome Christianity.
This Independence Day celebration is a great time to engage God's truth, practice positive living, and encourage loved ones to do the same. A freer USA and (prayerfully) the world are far away. But, we should start the journey now. Don't you agree?

CLOSING PRAYER
Loving Creator,
Inflame our souls with a fire for a freedom. Let everyone enjoy this. Let this fire be Christian in nature, just by application, and equally applied to all. It must be true. No phony faith here. O God, show me the way and I will follow with the Holy Spirit's help.
Amen.
BENEDICTION
Go and find your Christian truth that
provides freedom for your life and
that of our loved ones.
Amen.

SACRED MISCELLANY ...
1. Here is a July 4th table grace. Enjoy!
God of All Nations,
We thank You for our United States of America, for all of the people who sacrificed much to make our freedom possible, for all of the liberty blessings we enjoy in this hour, for our families, for this food, and - most especially - for Jesus Christ, in whose name we pray.
Amen.
2. In keeping with today's Wednesday Church theme, we are beacons of Christ's Light for a better America, here are some quotes about freedom and faith. Which one speaks most to you?
A. "Those who expect to reap the blessings of freedom, must, like men [and women], undergo the fatigue of defending it."
- - Thomas Paine
B. "May we think of freedom, not as the right to do as we please, but as the opportunity to do what is right."
- - Peter Marshall
C. "Freedom prospers when religion is vibrant and the rule of law under God is acknowledged.
- - Ronald Reagan
D. "This nation will remain the land of the free only so long as it is the home of the brave.""
- - Elmer Davis
E. "Our freedom is tied to our individual souls, a gift from God, not from government."
- - Mike Huckabee
F. "To serve God, to love God, to enjoy God, is the sweetest freedom in the world."
- - Thomas Watson
G. "If you want to be free, just start doing what God wants you to do, one step at a time, and you'll eventually walk out of your messes."
- - Joyce Meyer
H. "People are born to be free; it's a gift from God. We're not to be free from responsibility, but free to be led by the Holy Spirit."
- - Joyce Meyer
I. "God's purpose in redeeming men [people] from sin is not to give them freedom to do as they please but freedom to do as He pleases, which is to live righteously.
- - John MacArthur
